Sharing my favorite hair products and tools to make styling a breeze! I have naturally wavy hair that is also color treated, so these products work best for my hair to keep it soft and smooth. These products are all shop-able by clicking on the product name (e.g., Shampoo) or via the “shop tab” and looking for some of the images below!

My current go-to is the Redken All Soft. I only wash my hair 1-2 times a week, so shampooing is minimal. Shampooing helps clean all the product out of my hair that were used between washes. This product really cleans and refreshes my hair while keeping it soft!

Redken All Soft Mega is perfect for my curly, color treated hair. It’s just the right amount of moisture/hydration to keep my hair soft between washes.

I recently tried L’Oreal’s Ever Pure Brass Toning Purple Shampoo from Influenster and LOVE it! The price point is perfect, the smell is great, and I believe it truly works. Use it as a shampoo or as a mask to help keep the brassy tones out of blonde hair.

In addition to the purple shampoo, I also tried the L’Oreal’s Ever Pure Brass Toning Purple Conditioner. Equally love this product. I’ll even use it as a mask (tip from my hairstylist)! Apply to dry hair (only the blonde parts) and leave on for about 10 minutes. Then wash as normal! I’ve been doing this about once a week lately to help combat the brassy tones in my hair.

When I know I’m going to go curly (rather than straighten my hair), I always spray a little sea salt into my hair. I find that using it helps “enhance” my curls so they look polished rather than frizzy. I will brush/comb my hair, spray the sea salt, and then go to bed with wet hair to let it air dry. It’s the best formula I’ve found for leaving my hair naturally curly!

Speaking of brushing my hair—my go-to is the Wet Brush. It’s perfect for working out any tangles. It was a game changer to get Lilly to let me brush her hair. No pulling or “pain” while brushing! Plus, I think it’s softer on my hair than other brushes I have used, so my hair stays tangle-free and smooth.

To be hones—I actually use Iron Silk, but it’s apparently discontinued. This is the closest product that has seemingly replaced Iron Silk. I will spray this on my hair while wet before blow drying. I love how soft and smooth it makes my hair once I use the hot tools to style my hair. I firmly believe in a thermal spray before using any hot tools.

The. Best. Hair dryer. I had always used “cheap” hair driers until I borrowed my former roommate’s drybar blow dryer! Total game changer. I save so much time blow drying my hair because it dries my hair quick and (when combined with a round brush) super smooth. I did not realize that investing in a really good hair dryer was so important!

Now for the round brush. NECESSARY! I do not pretend that I’m able to blow out my hair like the pros, but it does make a big difference. Using the round brush cuts down on the effort to straighten out or curl my natural waves. There are so many different options out there (the one I currently use I can’t find online), but the key is getting a brush with mixed boar and nylon bristles. This aids in making your hair shiny with less frizz. Also make sure the brush has vents!

flat iron

A good flat iron is really important. I love the Hair Fetish flat iron with Japanese tourmaline plates. This flat iron has a heat dial to choose how hot you want your flat iron. Plus, with the curved edges, you can also use it to easily curl your hair. The technology of the plates also shines as you use it.

You can snag this flat iron for your self at Hoopla Studio. Just shoot them an email, mention The Katie Chronicles, and get 20% off!

I, personally, am team curling iron when it comes to curls. My go-to are Hot Tools products and I’ve been using their curling irons for years and years. Their irons come in several sizes, depending on what type if curl you’re after. The 1” iron is perfect for beach waves or more formal curls/hair styles. I use this iron the most.

I first tried Sexy Hair Spray & Play during Beauty Brand’s annual hairspray sale and I love it! It’s the perfect balance of holding the style without feeling crunchy or firm.

Going several days between washes sometimes calls for dry shampoo! I first tried Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo in a FabFitFun box and it’s quickly become one of my favorites!
