Holiday Style Guide: Scoobie
Holidays are upon us and it can be overwhelming trying to figure out what to wear to the work party, Friendsgiving, three family Thanksgivings, family pictures, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve…I mean the list goes on and on!
I’m taking some of the stress off your shoulders by visiting a few of my favorite KC-local boutiques and creating a few looks that can be purchased right off the rack—no worrying about whether or not your shipment will get here on time or if the size won’t fit or look right. Stop right on into the boutique, try on the outfit, and save your energy for the more important parts of the holidays!
Look #1:
I’ll be honest, when Sarah pulled this look I was nervous. I’m very conscious of my shape and what fabrics tend to be forgiving or…not. I was afraid this one would fall into the “not” category, but was SO pleasantly surprised! How cute would the body suit be with skinny jeans and a jacket? Or the skirt with a chunky sweater and booties? So many options! Skirt is available online here.
I tried on a Small in both, and would probably size up in the bodysuit for added torso length.
Look #2:
This two-piece sequin number is SO MUCH FUN! I love that it is a skirt + top so you can create several outfit combos out of each piece, but also wear together so it looks like a dress. I was also impressed by how soft the pieces were to wear. There’s nothing worse than wearing sequins and the discomfort when they rub on your skin, but the lining on these pieces was so incredibly soft.
I’m wearing a size XS top (recommend sizing down—I’d normally wear S) and the skirt is a S (I’d say this one is TTS).
Look #3
Deviating slightly from looks 1 & 2 to bring you this beautiful color palette for the late fall festivities. I love this beautiful rose colored mock-neck paired with a floral, pleated midi skirt (I’m all about midi skirts these days). I did end up buying this outfit to wear to Lilly’s holiday dance recital in a couple weeks. It would also be so pretty for family photos, work parties, Thanksgiving, etc.
Wearing both in a size small and run TTS.
Look #4
How fun is this flirty silver skirt? I can’t get over the silver fringe sequins! They also have a black option in the shop that is equally to die for. I paired it with a subtle leopard print black shell to create a sleek look for holiday parties that require you to get a little dressed up. I think it would also be really cute with long sleeves, or a leather jacket, or a bright pop of color.
